John brings to Cresset 23 years of real estate acquisition,management and disposition experience. Previously, he was a founding partner of Great Point Investors, LLC, a registered investment adviser. John was responsible for portfolio management and client relations for the firmâs largest client. Initially heading acquisitions, he later oversaw asset management and client reporting. Before forming GPI, John held senior positions at AMRESCO Advisors, Property Capital Associates/Property Capital Trust. He has been responsible for the acquisition or disposition of more than $1 billion of real estate assets and has been a voting member of the investment committee for more than a decade.

During his career as a fiduciary for pension plans and endowments, he utilized a variety of ownership structures, including limited liability companies, partnerships and participating loans and land leases.Throughout the industry downturn in the early '90s, he was responsible for office, industrial, retail, multi-family and hotel properties that were subject to the downturn of the market and complex structures and financings.

Before becoming an investment adviser in 1987, he was senior staff in Arthur Andersen’s tax department, specializing in real estate syndications. John holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Lawrence University and a Masters in Business Administration from the Johnson School of Management at Cornell University.
