The Bulfinch Hotel / Boston

Located in the downtown North Station neighborhood, the Bulfinch Hotel stands just blocks from Faneuil Hall and the Financial District. Cresset permitted a three-story addition to the existing six floors and the conversion to an 80-room hotel with a ground-floor restaurant and bar. This was a major renovation that included, foundation, underpinning, excavation for a basement and structural reinforcement of the existing six story shell to receive the additional three floors. The hotel is a Clarion Collections brand of Choice International Hotels, operated by Bulfinch Hospitality, LLC.

The initial strategy was to create a limited service mid-tier hotel that competes effectively on price point while maintaining a “boutique” ambiance. The revitalized North Station area and favorable hotel market created the opportunity to sell the property to Innkeepers USA, a REIT.
